When it’s layers season (AKA Fall!) you NEED to have great go-to basics in your closet! If you can mix and match your affordable basics with a few trendy/statement pieces or even just with each other, you can really stretch your dollar and still look super cute while being a hardcore #outfitrepeater.

A basic Fall outfit will usually be any combination of the following things: a belt, a mini skirt, a midi skirt, jeans, a sweater, a body suit/tee, a cami/tank, a cardigan, a sweater dress, booties or OTK boots, a scarf, a denim or utility jacket. SO pretty much as long as you have at least one in each category you have infinite amounts of outfits you can create, save money, and look cute and original!

I’ve listed out my favorite places to shop for basic pieces that are affordable, cute, and quality! Luckily basics are just that, BASIC, so you really don’t need to be spending a lot of money just due to the simplicity factor!

H&M

H&M kills the basics game. They have tees in every fit, lots of colors to choose from, and the price point is hard to beat. My favorite Fall basic pieces to buy here are sweaters and cardigans! They are SO GOOD. Also their jackets are great.

Forever 21

Forever 21 basics are the bomb.com. Quality is gonna be a little bit less, so it may only last you one season, BUT you can save a crap ton of money buying basic pieces here. I am all about their basic tees and simple/basic dresses!

American Eagle

I am so obsessed with their jeans you guys. And yes, jeans are a very important basic! If you don’t like to spend a lot on jeans but also like, want cute ones that fit great, American Eagle is IT. Also love Aerie’s sweaters/sweatshirt collection.

SheIn

SheIn is my go-to for bodysuits! When I need a new one or just a different color, I shop there because it is super duper cheap, simple, and I just like them OK? They have a ton of varieties and colors and styles too for someone who is looking for a basic but also not-so-basic bodysuit.

Amazon

Amazon has great basics! I actually really love my go-to denim skirt that I got from there. Super comfy and classic at the same time (comes in a tonnn of different washes/colors). They also have my favorite off the shoulde v-neck sweater that I own in multiple colors now, and my off the shoulder basic top that comes in a bunch of colors and a long and short sleeve version! Also scarves— theres like an insane amount of scarves you can buy for super cheap and in any color/pattern you can imagine on Amazon.

Target is great for the following basics: SHOES, jeans, leggings, sweatshirts. Especially the shoes. Straight up unbeatable prices and shoes that are solid basic/staples.

BASICally (see what I did there?) Cotton On is just one big store of amazing basics. I am a huge big fan of their selection of basic tops, jeans, skirts, dresses… OK I could go on. But the best part is how affordable everything is!! The prices are SO GOOD.
