16 Fall Fashion Trends for 2025 You'll Actually Wear
We are back at it again today with another fashion trend report! And this is my absolute favorite season to forecast trends for: Fall!
The fall fashion trends this year are shaping up to be super different and fun, and by the time that peak heat in mid-July is over I know we start to get ready to trade our sweaty days in shorts for some crisp Fall weather in our trendy Fall fits!
Before I dish on the trends that are set to dominate this autumn, I want to preface this with the fact that I only choose the trends that seem actually wearable in every day life. Some of these trends are practical, some a bit more fun, but all of them fit seamlessly into an everyday trendy wardrobe.
The other thing I always like to share before I dive into the trends is that these are TRENDS. They usually don’t last more than a season or two. I’m also sharing 16 of them—I don’t recommend hopping on all 16 trends just for trends sake! These are meant to be fun, inspiring and help you to see if you’re going to like where fashion is headed this season (or not).
Personally, I usually end up loving 1-2 of them per season and then add 1-2 trendy pieces to my existing wardrobe. To me, it’s fun to look back and cringe at some of the things I thought were cool every season as the trend cycle changes. So if buying a little leopard print jacket sparks some joy in your heart this season, I say go for it.
16 Fall Fashion Trends for 2025 You'll Actually Wear
1-Fur
Fur is like the number one FOR SURE trend that is going to be everywhere this fall. It was all over the runways, and you’re for sure going to see it all over the place from your Pinterest feed to the city streets. Of course, I like to take the more ethical and economical route and opt for a faux fur! But adding a fur coat to your wardrobe this season is a safe bet!
2-Loafers
Loafers are going to be the Fall shoe of choice this year! Chunky and vintage styles. Bonus points if you wear them with a slouchy or frilly sock! Bringing that sort of dark academia or old money vibe to your outfit effortlessly.
3-Statement Belts
Oh hi, 2008, it’s been awhile! But this era of fashion is definitely creeping back into style. And the return of the statement belt is a sure sign of that. But this time around it feels more classy and elegant instead of cheap and random. I definitely was guilty of wearing a cheap plastic belt around a baby doll top for NO good reason in my college days and thinking it was a slay. But this time around for 2025, the options are just more sophisticated looking.
4-Denim on Denim
LOVE this trend because it’s so easy to accomplish with items already in your closet. Denim on denim is the fun casual take on a monochrome look and it’s definitely sticking around for awhile.
5-Barn Jacket
The barn jacket was a huge trend last Fall and it’s set to be a recurring one this Fall too! The perfect piece of outerwear to layer over your casual outfit at a pumpkin patch if you ask me.
6-Clogs
I mean this trend has been around forever, and to some it really never went away. But the classic Birkenstock inspired clog has become a staple shoe the past few years and the casual shoe of choice for trendy girls everywhere!
7- Polka Dots
Obviously polka dots are nothing groundbreaking and are a classic print that has been around for ages. But this year they have been the IT print every season, and I don’t see that slowing down for Fall.
8-Moto Satchel Bags
Please forgive me because I don’t honestly know what to call this style of bag so moto satchel is what I went with. But everyone is saying bags like the Chloé Paddington and the Balenciaga City Bag are back in style! Also everyone keeps using the word vintage early 2000s when describing them and it’s making me feel really old.
9-Sheer Skirts
This trend is very cool girl / street style vibes but I’m seeing it become more and more mainstream. I love how it looks styled with an oversized blazer for a chic fashion-forward look for Fall.
10-Barrel Jeans
Love them or hate them, the barrel jean trend is here to stay! If you love them, then definitely check out my blog post on how to style them in 2025!

11-Suede
Suede is the trendy girl material for 2025! Suede bags, shoes, jackets—you name it!
12-Track Pants
I’ve seen this trend slowly creep up in popularity and I think Fall it’s going. to blow up. It’s like a fun sporty take on the trousers trend and I am here for it!
13- Leopard
This is not a new trend but I think anyone who bought leopard pants or a leopard jacket last year isn’t about to just throw it all away so I think we’re going to continue to see this trend in people’s everyday outfits. Especially the leopard barrel jeans!
14- Slim Straight Jeans
I think this is the result of a lot people claiming skinny jeans are back, and even more people screaming please God, no! So this happy medium of having a slim straight jean is perfect. Honestly I think it’s useful to have a variety of styles in your wardrobe because not everything looks good with a wide leg! So file this under a trend I don’t mind becoming a classic wardrobe staple.

15-Cardigans
A boxy cardigan hates to see a shopaholic coming. Bonus points if you just button the top button and wear a plain tank or tee underneath. It’s THE casual top right now, and I love it because it’s so approachable and easy to pull off for everyone!
16- Trousers
Trousers are not a new trend by any stretch, but at this point they have been so popular that if you don’t own a pair and love the trend, this is your sign to get a pair! People will for sure still be styling these up in Fall 2025. Also they’re versatile and useful. Even when the trend eventually dies for everyday wear, you can still wear them to work.
17- Crushed Velvet
Last but not least, crushed velvet is another material you’ll probably start seeing everywhere come Fall. I predict that going into Winter too, so definitely a safe trend to bet on!
So these are the trends that I think we’ll be seeing everywhere this Fall. What do you think? Did I nail it? Totally miss the mark? Let me know in the comments below. Also let me know which trends you love or hate!
