40+ Modest But Cute Church Outfit Ideas
If you’re an avid church-goer then you already know, people certainly don’t show up in their pajamas. Church is all about community, religion, and if you’re like me it’s also a little bit of an opportunity to put together a cute outfit! They don’t call it wearing your Sunday best for nothing.
Whether you go every Sunday, just Easter and Christmas, or you’re simply being polite and attending church for a friend’s wedding, a good church outfit is a must!
Most churches you’ll see a modest dress code that leans more “smart casual”. If you’re attending a wedding and going right from the church to the reception with no time to change, then making sure you have something to cover your shoulders or any sort of cut out in your dress would automatically make it appropriate.
Things to avoid when getting dressed for church:
Any clothing that is too revealing- exposed shoulders, deep cleavage, crop tops, mini skirts, etc
Distracting graphics- now is not the time to wear your favorite band’s concert tee. And skip anything with inappropriate slogans or visuals.
Too casual clothing- sweatpants, very destroyed denim, pajamas, etc
Hats- typically you need to remove your hat in a place of worship.
