30+ Stylish Italy Outfits for Summer
Day Time Looks
Chances are, if you're headed to Italy, you're going to be doing a lot of walking during the day! You may be exploring the streets of Rome or whatever major cities are on your trip itinerary, taking guided tours of historic buildings and museums, or even a day of sipping wine at a Tuscan winery.
No matter what you have planned, these outfits will have you looking chic even on a really hot day. And trust me, it gets hot there in the summer. I am pretty sure the average temperatures were consistently over 90 degrees every day we were there end of July / early August!
Casual Red Striped Mini Dress Outfit
I love this easy casual look for the summer months in Italy. Straw hat optional!
Graphic T-Shirt and Midi Skirt Outfit
Another great look I put together with a midi skirt that you could easily dress up for later in the evening! A cute casual look for the warmer months in Italy.
Linen Shirt and Shorts Outfit
Linen shirts are always an easy versatile piece to pack that can be worn as a casual top or a swim cover up! This entire look is giving effortless style for your daytime activities.
Casual White Mini Dress Outfit
White dresses are a staple of mine in the summer, and they fit right in on an Italian summer vacation. So easy to dress up or down too.
Dressed Down Midi Dress Outfit
Rome was the perfect place for me to rock this dress and style it down for daytime tours and then easily dress it up for going out to dinner. The amount of walking we did in Rome definitely warranted a pair of sneakers, even if it screams that I am an American tourist lol!
Short Sleeve Mini Dress Outfit
I wore this outfit touring the colosseum, and it was the perfect outfit for the summer heat that day. Packing comfy flat sandals was a must!
Casual Midi Skirt Outfit
I wore this look in Florence, and it was another one of those popular cities where there is so much to see so you do a lot of walking! My flat sandals came in handy for dressing this look down and keeping my feet as comfortable as possible!
Casual Wide Leg Pants Outfit
This look is giving European summer in the best way! Adding a fun hair accessory or scarf and dressing these pants down with a more casual basic white top make it feel chic but casual enough to wear during the day. I would swap the top out for something fancier and wear heeled sandals to dress this look up for going out to dinner.
Dressed Down Jumpsuit Outfit
Pairing a jumpsuit with flat sandals and a casual bag can keep things casual chic! I rocked this look while doing a food tour in Trastevere and it was the perfect outfit for sipping my Aperol spritz and eating my body weight in pizza and pasta.
Denim Vest and Casual Maxi Dress Outfit
This feels like an appropriate outfit to wear on a Tuscan wine tour! (Something I missed out on when I was in Italy thanks to a bout of food poisoning!) But this warmer weather look is the perfect casual chic outfit for the day time in Italy.
Casual Matching Set With Skirt Outfit
A matching set like this is always great to pack because you can repurpose the skirt and top into other outfits as well! Love the neutral colors in this one, but colorful matching sets can be fun too!
Night Time Looks
Going out to dinner and exploring the nightlife in Italy in the summer is SO FUN. I mean obviously the food is one of the best things about an Italy trip, so your Italian summer outfits gotta match the vibe. These are some great outfit ideas for everything from a fancy dinner, to a night of watching fireworks and roaming the cobblestone streets!
Floral Print Mini Dress Outfit
A fun patterned mini dress with bold colors is always a good choice on an Italian vacation! One of the easiest ways to add a pop of color to your vacation wardrobe.
Midi Dress Outfits
You can't go wrong with a midi dress for going out at night on your Italian vacation. I rocked many on my trip, and they're so easy to throw on some sandals and a cute bag and go!
Midi Skirt Outfit
Midi skirts are one of my favorite items to pack for an Italian summer getaway because they look so cute dressed up or down so you can get a lot of mileage out of them. I love a fun pattern, but you also can keep it simple if that is more your style.
Matching Set With Skirt Outfit
Another fun matching set with skirt outfit, but this time it's dressed up! Such an easy classy look for this time of year in Italy.
Blazer and Mini Skirt Outfit
If you really want style points you can throw a blazer in the mix to style for your night time looks. I will say, you're probably safer packing a blazer in the early summer like in early June. It was definitely too hot later in the summer when I went. But, the most important thing is to simply check the weather forecast before you pack!
Dressed Up Floral Romper Outfit
I was in my romper era when I visited Italy and this floral one was the perfect look for going out to dinner in Sorrento. I ended up pairing with some wedge sandals with some pretty high heels, and I think I would swap for a lower heel next time I go!
Maxi Dress Outfit
Of course a maxi dress is an easy staple to pack for your Italy trip! These two looks are chic and easy to copy for your own Italy vacation.
Dressed Up Jumpsuit Outfit
I'm a big fan of jumpsuits, and especially one that can look chic dressed up or down like this one! Packing one in a breathable fabric like linen is always a good idea for the summer month in Europe.
Matching Set With Pants Outfit
A fun colorful set can be the statement look of your summer trip to Italy. I love mixing in vibrant colors, especially in the summertime.
Linen Pants Outfit
This linen pants outfit is so chic and easily could be taken from the day into the night if you have a busy day where there's no time to go back and change before dinner!
Beach Looks
If you're hitting up the coast in Northern or Southern Italy, then you're going to want to pack some looks for spending time at the beach. Here are some chic casual outfits you can easily rock with a bathing suit.
We also ended up booking an impromptu boat day when we were staying in Capri (highly recommend!) and it was truly one of our favorite days of our trip! Lots of swimming and exploring local coastal towns, so having a versatile look that worked with a swimsuit was key!
Here is some cute beach outfit inpso below that I wore on my own trip, and some other beach outfits I styled up that would totally work on an Italy vacation:
Travel Day Looks
If you end up city hopping while you're in Italy (we certainly did!) you may have some days dedicated to travel. We had some days where we took long train ride, taxis, and even a ferry ride. So having some comfortable but still cute outfits for travel days is a good idea.
These outfits are all comfy, casual, and perfect for traveling in the summer months in Italy:
