17 Spring Fashion Trends for 2025 You'll Actually Wear
Whenever I search "what are the Spring fashion trends for 2025?" I get a lot of high fashion and predictions from the spring runways during new york city fashion week. And while that can definitely help predict, for us mere mortals who are more into casual, everyday wear, I don't find that information very practical or useful! So if you're like me and you're just wondering what is going to be trendy for regular girls who like to keep it classic, casual and add in a trend here and there, then this is for you!
My Personal Take on Trends:
If you've clicked over to this list, I would imagine you are interested in what the top trends are for next year (or this year if it's already 2025 when you're reading this). But if you're a trend-hater, then I totally get it. Personally, I understand that as a whole the fashion industry is corrupt and the trend cycle feels like it moves faster and faster as the years go on. I always choose like 1-2 trends that I am excited about, try to find a wearable piece or two that I know I will wear often, and then mix it in with my current wardrobe.
I also like to compile this list because most of these trends are approachable, wearable, and will likely actually stick around (or already have) for more than just one season. So if you're just trying to give your spring wardrobe a small update for the warmer weather headed our way this upcoming season, this is the list for you!
The Biggest Fashion Trends (That You'll Actually Wear) for Spring 2025
So let's get into the fashion trend forecasts for the Spring of 2025! Again, these are all geared towards those of us who don't strut a runway on a daily basis, and who aren't a fashion editor. Just for your average girl trying to look cute for this upcoming spring summer season!
1- Sheer Fabrics
This seems to be the big trend that everyone is talking about that I am actually seeing wearable pieces for. Sheer fabrics can be seen across a wide variety of pieces from skirts, pants, tops and we're even seeing mesh shoes hit the scene. This was definitely a trend last year that I think will get even bigger this year, so a fun one to hop on and an easy one to embrace in the new year!
2- Barrel Jeans
I finally embraced this trend last season, and it seems to me that it's not going anywhere! Now is the perfect time to try out this trend if it's been intriguing you. I think it definitely depends on your body type and personal style, but it's definitely a fresh take on your typical straight leg silhouettes!
3- Suede
Suede made a big statement last Fall and holiday season, and it's sticking around for spring! It will likely be in the form of bags, jackets, shoes, etc and in more pastel or bright colors for the Spring time. A fun new way to embrace the spring color palettes without simply throwing on floral pieces and calling it a day.
4- Track Pants
I'm manifesting this one because I've heard some rumblings about sporty elements taking center stage more and more and I've already seen a few track pants outfits pop up on my Pinterest feed. This is a trend I am really hoping and praying blows up because it's such a fun sporty look that is also insanely comfy! Already scheming how to style up a pair with trench coats or blazer for that chic street style vibe.
5- Boxer Pants / Boxer Shorts
This is a trend from last year that I was obsessed with that I think will be sticking around for 2025. This is another one that falls in line with the key theme of comfort, and I am excited to see if it sticks around for next season. Especially since I bought three pairs last year.
6- Leopard Print
This is a macro trend that I feel will never go away. It's the new neutral and you can't convince me otherwise. I have been loving the modern twist on leopard print I've seen in jackets and pants and can't wait for the spring iterations of these bold prints that pop up.
7- Slim Straight Jeans
Everyone is freaking out about the possible return of the skinny jean, but I think whether you hate it or love it, it's not coming back in the skin tight version for 2025. What I am interested in though is the "slim straight" style jeans where it's definitely a skinnier silhouette but it's not skin tight. It's fitted around the waist area but gives you some room to breathe in the leg area.
Have no fear if you’re feeling like they’ll have to pry your wide leg jean out of your cold, dead hands— that trend is definitely sticking around for 2025!
8- Cherry Red
According to Pinterest predicts- cherry red is going to be the "it" color for next year. We saw a lot of red and burgundy last year, so I am down for the color of the year staying relatively the same as last year! This will likely spill over into things like nail colors, lip color, accessories etc. We're all into a pop of red, and it doesn't seem to be stopping!
9- Micro Shorts
This is one I will not partake in, but if you are young and wild and free- there are some fun ways to style these! Do I think this trend will stick around for a long time? Not necessarily, but I do see a lot of people trying to make this a more mainstream wearable trend, so I am throwing it on the list! It's certainly not impossible to style, I just am in my mid thirties and have children, so like it's not feeling like a vibe for me at this stage in my life. Here's hoping micro shorts = micro trend.
10- Polo Shirts
This is one that I think will be taking over for Spring! It's a timeless style that has kind of been largely ignored the past couple years, but since Gen Z likes to dress like Millennials did in high school in the early 2000s, I can totally see this making a huge comeback. I think seeing different iterations of this like rugby tops and peter pan collar shirts will be a thing too.
11- Satin Skirts
I have styled many a satin skirt look the past year or so and I am into this trend! I think it's a chic and easy way to add a softer silhouette to your whole look, and they're so versatile because they can be dressed up or down.
12- Showing Some Shoulder
It's being predicted that showing off your shoulders or "power shoulders" is going to be a common theme next year. In the colder weather that is going to look like off the shoulder sweaters, and in the warmer months that will take the form of strapless dresses and tops. Love this because most of us already have pieces like this in our closet, so no need to go buy something new if you don't want to!
13- Tie-Front Tops
This is a fashion trend I am obsessed with! I saw so many tie front tops last spring and summer, which then influenced the bow-tie blouse trend for the winter. But I think a tie front top is such a fun chic trend that is super wearable and fun to style.
14- Hobo Bags
Love this trend, can't stop styling it. Totally wearable, very practical and super stylish. Is it a forever trend? No, but I think it's sticking around for a couple seasons, so finding a good boho bag is a great way to embrace the trends and getting some longevity out of them.
15- Trousers
Wide leg trousers are not going anywhere for 2025! They've been a trend for a few years now, and are slowly becoming a staple. This is an easy one to embrace and add to your closet if you haven't already!
16- Cardigans
Of course cardigans are another closet staple, but the quiet luxury trend really forced them into the forefront the past few years. Oversized, boxy style as well as more of the "old money" tailored looking versions are the current trend.
17- Ballet Flats
Ballet flats are for sure my favorite shoe trend for Spring (and honestly every season). It's been the trend the past year or so, and it's not going anywhere. It's for sure a macro trend that has micro trends within it like: mary jane style, mesh ballet flats, leopard print, metallic, etc. There's so many different ways to embrace this trend based on your personal style and preference! Plus, they're flats so, they're comfortable!
So those are the major spring fashion trends I am predicting will be big for 2025! Of course some of these could be way off, and there could be trends that pop up that nobody predicted! But overall if you're like me and like to keep your wardrobe pretty classic and throw in a a few trends, any of these would be safe bets to try out for next Spring.
