It’s no secret I LOVE shopping for clothes on Amazon! So when I became pregnant, I knew it would be the first place I looked for maternity clothes! Now that I am 24 weeks along, (more than halfway through pregnancy!) I am definitely ready to start my maternity wardrobe! Always the dedicated Amazon shopper, I decided to do my research and today I am sharing the 9 best pieces of maternity clothes to buy on Amazon!
This dress was my first “bump-friendly” purchase from Amazon. But now it’s time to graduate to some real maternity clothes!
The Amazon maternity selection is pretty dang impressive! There was A LOT of listings to sift through before I discovered which ones were worth investing in. I use the word investing, but it’s Amazon! There isn’t that much of an investment because the prices are just so reasonable. Which is great, because as pregnant women, we’re not really thrilled to have to overspend on clothing that we know is going to be a very temporary part of our wardrobe rotation!
It can be hard shopping for maternity clothing- especially now with the pandemic making it way more difficult to go in-store and actually try these pieces on. Which is kind of key when you’re growing constantly and not even sure what size to get! (pro tip: you don’t need to size up in maternity clothes! Choose your normal pre-pregnancy size!) A lot of us have turned to online shopping, but it can make us hesitant since we don’t get that try-it-on factor!
That’s why I love Amazon. The reviews are plentiful so you can get an idea of the quality and how it is going to fit. PLUS their return policy is straight up amazing. It’s SO EASY to make returns these days, you just need the app! No printing out a return label or anything! Just go to one of their approved drop-off locations (WholeFoods, Kohl’s, UPS) and have the person working the drop-off center scan it and boom. Your return has been processed. Really helps you shop with confidence knowing that you can very easily return your maternity items if they don’t fit. I usually order multiple sizes knowing I will return the one that doesn’t fit!

So below I will be listing out what I am hoping you WON’T be returning and will be wearing on repeat throughout the second half of pregnancy (and beyond- a lot of versatile/nursing-friendly options listed too)! I stuck with the basic must-haves for an easy pregnancy wardrobe and added in some seasonal pieces of maternity clothes as well since we aren’t all pregnant during the same months!
As far as special occasions like being a wedding guest or buying your baby shower dress, I suggest checking out my post here on some other great places to shop for maternity clothes. Those stores will definitely have a great selection of dresses for such occasions. Not that you can’t find your baby shower dress on Amazon! I just wanted to stick to the must-haves/go-to’s/wardrobe basics that you’ll be gravitating to the most when picking out an outfit!
1-The Best Maternity Jeans
Let’s start this off with a bang shall we? Maternity jeans are probably one of the #1 maternity items that pregnant women add to their wardrobe first! Because once the regular jeans don’t fit, you realize it’s time to invest in maternity clothes! Having a good pair of maternity jeans is KEY so I wanted to do my due diligence and I really sifted through the options available on Amazon. This listing blew all the other ones away in every category! They are a jegging material, they come in other washes and styles, they have a belly band that goes OVER the belly (I figured us millennial chicks are scarred from our early 2000s low rise jeans and certainly won’t be embracing that trend starting in pregnancy!) and the reviews are great!
2-The Best Basic Maternity Midi Dress
You mightttt want this Amazon maternity dress in a few other colors / patterns / sleeve lengths because it is SO GOOD. A total pregnancy wardrobe must-have! It’s a very comfortable, bump-accentuating solid piece that can be warn anywhere from the office, to a party, to hanging on the couch! You can style it SO MANY WAYS and it can even double as a skirt if you throw a top on over it! I love it paired with a loose sweater or a fun graphic tee! The brand is Liu & Qu and the reviews are great and point to the material being a much better quality than expected. 3- The Best Nursing-Friendly Maternity Dress
This dress is the perfect marriage of flowy but not frumpy! It has a stylish look to it, and it’s perfect for after baby too because the top flap lifts up for easy access for breastfeeding. This listing comes in tons of colors as well, and it’s so easy to just throw on with some cute sandals or sneakers if you’re going casual, or you could dress it up with some heels too! I just love a good versatile piece and love that this will easily last beyond pregnancy too! The reviews show that moms are pretty obsessed, and I can see why! The fit is both fun and functional. It comes in some fun patterns too! Maxi dresses are for sure a pregnant girl’s best friend!
4- Best Basic Maternity Top
The Amazon maternity selection of tops is endless! I really researched this one, and if you’re looking for a GOOD basic top that will be both flattering with a bump, easy to rock with maternity jeans or leggings, is nursing-friendly, and comes in a 3-pack—then this Amazon listing is your new best friend. The packs do come in other color combos to suit your preference. The one pictured below is my favorite. The reviews are great and the price is right for sure!

5-Best “Fun” Maternity Top
I love this top! I just think that it’s a bit more fun of an option but is still really versatile. It could totally be worn to work in a professional setting, or for a fun night out it could be paired with a cute denim or leather jacket and maternity jeans, or just thrown on with some shorts in the summer! So many ways to style! There are multiple cute patterns in this listing to check out, and the fit is so flattering for the belly! I see lots of people mentioning that they loved this top after pregnancy too (it unbuttons so it’s nursing friendly!), so definitely very versatile and worth buying!
6- Best Maternity Leggings
This is a tough one right? Because good maternity leggings are KEY! I wanted to find a listing that had thousands of positive reviews, a great price, and many different color options. So this one wins with flying colors in all categories! There’s even an option to buy the black pair in a 2-pack! The reviews speak for themselves and I love that there are great basic color and fun pattern options! These fit over the bump (because who the heck wants low-rise leggings?) and are comfortable and quality. These are for sure your best bet for maternity leggings on Amazon!

The rest of these are going to be a bit more seasonal! If you are pregnant in the summer, you may want to skip the maternity jeans and opt for maternity shorts instead. If that’s the case, this Amazon listing is seriously all you need! It has every wash and length you could imagine! There are over-the-belly band and under-the-belly band options as well. So many pairs to choose from so they will work for whatever your personal style may be! Very highly rated!
8- Best Maternity Winter Coat / Parka
If you’re going to be pregnant during the colder months, you might find that you can’t zipper up your normal winter coat! They do sell maternity winter coats BUT I suggest buying this zip-in jacket expander! It also comes in handy for when you’re carrying your baby in a baby carrier in the winter too! It’s a bit easier and a bit cheaper than buying an actual maternity parka (especially because you may never wear it again! What if your next kid is born in the summer?). And this way you can still rock your normal winter coat! You simply choose which one you want based on length of your coat and type of zipper you have! So easy!
9- Best Maternity Bathing Suit
If you’re going to be pregnant during the summer months or if you plan on taking a “babymoon” to a warm location, you’ll likely want a maternity bathing suit! Personally, I buy like 90% of my bathing suits from Amazon, so yes I totally trust the quality! The challenge with a maternity bathing suit is you don’t want it to look frumpy but you still want that comfort and support! Enter this amazing bathing suit!! It comes in other colors and patterns but it is also super fun and trendy with the added support for a growing belly! It’s reasonably priced and the reviews are great!
